Welcome to the uncomfortable truth blog. Now I am writing this article because of channels like Isaac Butterfields not because I dislike Isaac Butterfield, but I have noticed a trend on the internet that is to make fun of wacky leftists on TikTok and YouTube among others.
Now for those of you who don’t know Isaac Butterfield is a YouTube comedian who generally makes videos about the wacky people on YouTube which is often what I call wacky leftists and makes fun of them.
Now I am not saying this to disparage the mentioned channel as they are free to make videos on whatever topic they want but I have decided to stop watching these sorts of channels.
The reason is simple. I feel sorry for these leftists saying wacky things such as there’s an infinite number of biological genders (notice the word biological as I am referring to a person’s physiology not their gender identity which is a social construct) because of birth abnormalities (which make up less than 1% of people) and other things.
I remember watching a video of Isaac Butterfield’s once and there was a trans critic who referred to him as a reactionary which she defined as “as a person opposing political or social progress or reform.”
She gave a wordier form of that definition, and it was that definition, and I don’t think that’s the case in Isaac Butterfields case as he seems to be just a guy who makes content by showing the weird of the internet and making fun of it and people might say there just jokes but I feel that these people are vulnerable.
What I mean is that people who espouse weird ideas even if those people ideas are seriously out of touch with reality, they are still people. I think politician are fair game because these people can enact policies that can affect us all so if there’s policies are based on dangerous ideologies then that’s a real problem.
But someone on the internet say there’s an infinite number of genders is really a threat to anyone, and they should be educated or engaged in dialogue to make them see why there ideas are false.
Most of these extreme leftists who complain about toxic masculinity and vilify all men including male children or those that believe all white people are pure evil or that institutional racism exists but can’t name a racist institution they are still people.
Very mislead people but people none the less. This is why at my channel I prefer to attack ideas instead of people unless it’s warranted like a political candidate.
I am not saying that these channel that do this should be banned but I just wanted to express my point of view as why I don’t do this. People are people in the end even if they have different and opposing ideas to you.
